Winter holidays in Val Pusteria/Pustertal

A winter holiday in Terento/Terenten in Val Pusteria offers a broad range of winter sports. The panorama ski lift in the village is not far from our holiday apartments and guarantees fun times skiing – for the whole family. Beginners in particular will find ideal conditions for learning how to ski. Cross-country skiers can romp about on the 7 km long cross-country course, which is free of charge and always well-prepared. Lovers of tobogganing will find their own paradise at the central Terento run or on the meadows of Pertinger Alm. The Terento sports centre provides an ice skating rink for ice skating lovers. Hiking through the snow-covered winter landscape is an extraordinary way to experience nature – with or without snowshoes.

Excursion to Plan de Corones/Kronplatz

Just half an hour's drive from Terento/Terenten you will find the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz winter sports centre. This ski area is one of the largest and most modern in South Tyrol. Several sunny cross-country tracks with a total of about 15 km extend on the high plateau of Riscone/Reischach, at the foot of the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz. Plan de Corones/Kronplatz with about 119 slope kilometres and 32 modern lifts is known as ski resort no. 1 in South Tyrol, offering long downhill pistes, sunny slopes for beginners as well as five black slopes, the so-called “Black Five”, which are a real challenge, even for pros. A viewing platform on the summit offers interesting insights into the surrounding mountain peaks. Above it you find the peace bell Concordia 2000, ringing daily at 12.00 o’clock. The ski resort is part of the largest ski carousel in the world, Dolomiti Superski, and offers direct access to the legendary Sellaronda, the tour around the Sella mountain. Also snowboarders and freestylers will get their money’s worth during a winter holiday on Plan de Corones/Kronplatz – on the snow park on the Belvedere slope with easy-, medium-, medium-rail- and kicker line. This is where the most spectacular jumps and tricks take place.

Messner Mountain Museum Corones

A visit to the Christmas market in Brunico/Bruneck

In Advent we recommend you a visit to the Christmas market in Brunico/Bruneck. The South Tyrolean Christmas markets open at the end of November until the beginning of January, lighting up the entire region with their warm lights, bright colours and festive decorations. Red-cheeked sales women and men offer their handcrafted goods in rustic wooden huts, featuring many a great souvenir for visitors or locals alike. Beside the market of Brunico/Bruneck also the one in Bressanone/Brixen, on the cathedral square, or in Vipiteno/Sterzing are well worth a visit. Immerse yourself in this picture-perfect fairy-tale world. And with a bit of luck you might find yourself that perfect Christmas present for your loved ones waiting for you at home.
